I'm currently recruiting for a strong Teaching Assistant to work in a superb primary school with a superb SEN provision that works with Autistic pupils. The school have a fantastic reputation due to the quality of education they deliver. They do this by offering high quality support from all Teachers and Teaching Assistants to ensure all students achieve their full potential. This role is for a January start and would continue for the rest of the academic year. The school can offer a daily rate of pay between £80 and £95 per day.
The ideal applicant will have experience in a SEN school environment, be able to learn quickly and be confident to work independently quickly. You will have the support of an experienced SEN team to help guide you. The successful candidates will be resilient and have a genuine interest to work with students with social emotional and behavioural needs. Experience working with Autism (ASC) is also beneficial. The SEN school in Brent are open to accepting applicants with mainstream experience who are passionate about developing their SEN skill set who have an EYFS background and have strong classroom presence and behaviour management skills. All students in the class will have an individualised Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).
The SEN Teaching Assistant would:
* Work with a class of 8 pupils
* Support pupils with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional and mental health issues
* Work with a full-time class Teacher
* Support lessons based on the national curriculum
* Ideally be able to use PECS and Makaton
* Be trained in Positive Handling and be confident with physical interventions and restraints
