The school is seeking an experienced teaching assistant, who has recent experience of working with children with ASD. The role will involve 1:1 support for a child with Autism and your time will be split between working in-class and also in a support area. The Headteacher at the school likes to give staff variety wherever possible, so there may be some general teaching assistant work as well.

The pupil you will be working with is in Year 3 and has speech and language needs, so experience in this area is welcomed, although her speech has improved recently. She also works with a visiting Speech and Language specialist. She is a lovely child and behaviour is generally good although she sometimes can get frustrated and you will need to patient and perseverent. This will be a really interesting, varied role. There will be some challenges but it will be very rewarding.


Your hours of work will be 8.30am- 3:45pm with 30 minutes for lunch, with a daily rate of £70- £80, depending on experience.

The school is well served by public transport.
