The focus of this school is to support students with speech and language difficulties in a tailored environment, well-resourced to support pupils with severe to moderate learning difficulties (MLD). Working with a bespoke curriculum created for students with Autism (ASC) and difficulties with social communication, you would join a specialist team of speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, creative arts therapists, educational psychologists and occupational therapists. Experience of working within Multi-Disciplinary teams, or a desire to grow your ability to offer collaborative support, would be ideal in this role.

Running after school and weekend clubs as well as holiday provisions, this is a role that will give you plenty of opportunities to be involved in an active and caring support network. We are looking for a team player who is keen to be a part of this unique approach to foster confidence and extend pupils abilities using a person-centred approach.

As a Speech and Language Teaching Assistant on the team, you would be responsible for working in small groups and 1:1 facilitating a weekly speech and language programme across a variety of classes and age groups. Patience, adaptability, experience supporting emotional regulation and flexible thinking will be key to success in this role.

The Teaching Assistant would
*Help all students engage in class and grow as independent learners
*Develop students' confidence and communication skills, improving their quality of life
*Identify obstacles to students learning and adapt your teaching approach to ensure person centred, individualised support
*Support pupils with communication skills in a classroom and 1:1

The Teaching Assistant we require should have:
*Experience working with pupils with special educational needs
*Team Teach Training is desired but not essential
*Experience using behaviour techniques within a classroom
*Knowledge of P-Scales and differentiating lessons desired but not essential
*Must be Caring, Adaptable, highly intuitive and a team player
