SANZA Teaching Agency is currently working exclusively with a with a Special Educational Needs School currently looking to employ a Speech and Language Therapist Band 6 to join their team. This School is based in the borough of Wandsworth and is looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join their team on full-time basis. The role is a Speech and Language Therapist is due to start in September 2021 and will continue until the end of the academic year. This SEN School caters for students aged 5 to 19 years old diagnosed with SEMH, EBD, trauma and ASD.

This school is looking for a Speech and Language therapist who has the drive to develop and work with young people with challenging behaviour within a school context. This will need to include an integrative approach that is responsive to individual needs. You will be part of a multi-professional and highly skilled team who work collaboratively, developing personalised approaches to learning, ensuring that individual needs are met.

As well as delivering Speech and Language therapy sessions to the young people attending this school, you will communicate with CAMHS and other therapists at the nearby Primary and Secondary PRU. This may include participating in Peer Supervision and reciprocal arrangements for one to one and group work.

As a Lead Speech and Language Therapist, some of your responsibilities include:

  • Supporting newly qualified SLTs and speech and language therapy assistants
  • planning and deliver training sessions
  • undertake clinical audit
  • Leading on small group literacy intervention
  • Advising carerson implementing a treatment programme and train other professionals in therapy delivery
  • To make appropriate clinical decisions following specialist assessment, including recognisingpotential breakdown
  • Provide a robust differential diagnosis, or strong evidence towards this for a wide range of difficulties; including Developmental Language Disorder, Language disorders, specific Speech Disorders and Social Communication Disorders
