We are looking to recruit Sports Science students or graduates to join our Team of Supply Teaching Assistants in Calne. We are working closely with a large number of Calne and Chippenham schools who are seeking Sports graduates or students with experience of working with young people as a Sports Coach OR in another capacity related to young people.
This type of work will be a great opportunity for Sports graduates or Sports Coaches to use their academic knowledge on motivation and experience of working with young people in an Education setting. You will have the opportunity to work on a 1:1 or group setting with young people with Special Educational needs and support their learning and emotional well-being.
The work will involve 1:1 intervention sessions as well as supporting pupils in class as a Teaching Assistant and sometimes as a Sports Coach. However, the role of a teaching assistant will not always or at all involve using sports or sports activities. Schools expect that candidates will have good quality literacy skills and appropriate educational qualifications to be able to meet these high standards.

- Be willing to perform duties that are not related to Sports only.
Highly Desirable:
- Understanding and experience of supporting/teaching young people with Mental Health issues.
- Teaching Sports at after-school clubs
Placements in schools vary from daily supply, short and long-term cover and permanent positions according to your requirements and availability. Pay will depend on experience and the responsibilities of the role and is never less than £60 per day.
