Sports Specialist Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a dedicated Sports Specialist Teaching Assistant/ Cover Supervisor to join a "Good" Alternative Provision Secondary School within Blackburn, starting 12th April 2021- July 2021.
This is a full time, long term role. Helping to deliver and support PE and Outdoor Education throughout the Secondary Alternative Provision.
As a Sports Specialist Teaching Assistant your job will be supporting and delivering sport across KS2 to KS4 by working with small groups of pupils to enhance their learning and academic development.
Your role will involve supporting and teaching pupils within this "Good" Secondary Alternative Provision experience is essential and a patient and determined character is needed.
The ideal candidate will have experience both within delivering and supporting within PE ideally qualified to Level 3.
We are looking for:
Someone who has ideally, have experience delivering and supporting within PE and ideally qualified to Level 3. You must also have a passion for working with Secondary aged pupils and be dedicated to making a positive impact on their learning and development. As per Department for Education (DfE) guidelines you will need to be able to provide full identification copies and reference details from the relevant experience you have previously gained in this or a similar setting.
We are looking for:
- Excellent communication and behaviour management techniques
- Teaching Assistant Level or Degree Qualified
- Confidence in dealing with challenging behaviour
- Experience with supporting challenging behaviour
- Be able to confidently work as part of the team and independently
Essentials:
- This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
- Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
- You must have the legal right to work in the UK
The Secondary School is based in Blackburn just off the M65 easy accessible with public transport and additionally if you are driving has free car parking.
