. Additional leadership opportunities are available for the successful teacher of the deaf and they welcome applications from those seeking part-time or full time hours.

The school, set in Wandsworth, follows a student-centred multi-modal approach to communication. They would welcome an open minded teacher of the deaf to become part of their vibrant and innovative learning community. The successful teacher of the deaf will have the opportunity to work in a happy and harmonious school which promotes the highest standards and is at the forefront of special education. They would like all staff to be able to communicate by signing. If you do not currently have this skill at BSL Level 2, then the school will assist with training.
The successful teacher of the deaf will:
*Offer a subject specialism (The ability to offer a second subject is desirable)
*Be a dynamic and creative teacher with an innovative understanding of teaching and learning in relation to deaf students and those with speech and language needs.
*Be ambitious and problem-solving in raising achievement of all students.
*Be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
*Have the ability to communicate effectively in British Sign Language and / or be committed to further training if required

(there is a mandatory requirement for the successful teacher of the deaf to complete a "Teacher of the Deaf" qualification or be prepared to study for this within three years of taking up the post)
