**About the role**
This SEN Teaching assistant role is to work with a child that will be joining the school new in September 2021 due to relocating to the Greenwich area. The student has an EHCP and funding in place for a Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with the student to support in class and around the school. The child in question has Autism and some challenging behaviours leading from that diagnosis. The school want a candidate that will be a calming influence on the child and will spot and recognise when situations are arising to straight away step in and diffuse any difficult situations. The child does have some communication but mainly through single words. Previous school said the use of pictures worked well so someone with PECs experience would be beneficial but not essentially. School happy to give further training and support to any candidates in regards to things like bucket time and other solutions that help.
