Collaborative team work with your colleagues in the SEN centre and across the mainstream school is essential in this role to ensure all pupils are happy and successful in school. Whilst in a mainstream environment, each pupil is assisted by a teaching assistant and a wide range of class-based resources. TA's provide one to one and group interventions during lessons to ensure pupils are engaged and able to participate.
In addition to learning in class, SEN pupils receive additional support programmes such as Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy. The school also promotes many community-based activities. There are regular swimming sessions at the local pool, tea parties for parents, children and staff, and Paralympic sports of boccia and curling. A highlight for the pupils is the annual school residential trips away to destinations outside London. Through careful planning, pupils have had once in a life time experiences on these trips, trying quad biking, trampolining, abseiling, zip-wires and climbing all alongside their mainstream peers.
The Centre is exceptionally well equipped with a Soft Play Room, specialist equipment for physiotherapy sessions, multisensory features such as a coloured light display and the soundboard and a Multisensory Garden.
