An opportunity to join our highly motivated and skilled team as a Teaching Assistant with PMLD experience has become available. This Special Educational Needs School based in the borough of Wandsworth is a leading provider of education for visually-impaired children and young people aged 2 - 19 years. They have an impressive three-acre campus in Wimbledon offering fabulous indoor and outdoor innovative facilities to support teaching and learning.

The PMLD Teaching Assistant role is due to begin in April 2021 and will continue until July 2022. The school is happy to accommodate full-time or part-time candidates and is paying and annual salary of 17,500 - 20,650.

This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about transforming young peoples' lives, promoting independence and has a desire to develop their career in a Special School setting. You'll be working within an experienced team of colleagues committed to providing high quality support and education to the children and young people across the school.

Your role as a Teaching Assistant will be to work with pupils with complex medical needs and PMLD. This role includes supporting learning and developments programmes and personal care (Primary and Secondary).

To be shortlisted for this PMLD Teaching Assistant role, you will need to:

  • Have experience working in a SEN setting specifically with students / adults diagnosed with PMLD
  • Be willing to learn and engage in a truly inspirational environment
  • Be available for a full academic year either on full-time or part-time basis
  • Be someone who is compassionate, kind and nurturing

This role will involve personal care and you will need to be willing to assist where needed.
