Tradewind are recruiting for an English Teacher!
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable & resilient English Teacher to start in September 2024 at a secondary alternative provision in Salford for children with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH) that are within the Youth Justice system.
The Role
- English Teacher for secondary aged pupils with SEMH needs at an alternative education provision
- Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:30pm.
- Start September 24, long term, expected to continue until at least July 25.
- Excellent pay up to £230/day DOE.
- Possibility of going onto a permanent contract for the right person.
- Paid PAYE via Tradewind. We don't use umbrella payroll companies!
- Equal pay to what the school would pay you on contract from the 13th week onwards.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Secondary Teacher of English.
- You will need positive confident classroom management skills.
- You must be able to differentiate lessons to the differing needs & levels of students.
- Students will be of mixed ability, age and backgrounds.
- You will need to work closely with your TAs to managing challenging behaviour while engaging, motivating & building strong relationships with your pupils.
- You will also need to collaborate with school management, parents and outside professionals.
The School
- Secondary Alternative Education Provision in the Salford area.
- All students have an EHCP for Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs, SEMH.
- Students are part of the Youth Justice system.
- Class sizes of no more than 5 pupils including TA support.
- Students academic attainment is at lower levels than expected for their age.
- Experienced & supportive management.
- Collaborative teamwork atmosphere.
- Focus on safety, inclusion and holistic outcomes for students that prepare them for the next stage in their life.
- Easily accessible by car, bus or train.
To join us and be successful in this Salford based SEMH English Teacher role, you will need to:
- Hold QTS Status or QTLS.
- Have an enhanced DBS certificate (or be happy to pay for a new one).
- Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
- Minimum of two professional references checks.
- Provide a CV with full education & work.
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
