Tradewind Recruitment is excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a large and inclusive primary school in the heart of Woodford, Redbridge. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of young children with special educational needs (SEN) and creating a nurturing and supportive learning environment.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting children in Reception and Key Stage 1 (KS1), providing 1:1 assistance to those with a range of needs, including speech and language difficulties, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and behavioural challenges. Your role will involve working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure all pupils are given the best possible chance to thrive both academically and socially.

In this role, you will:

  • Support children with SEN on a 1:1 or small group basis
  • Help to deliver tailored interventions to meet each child's individual needs
  • Assist in creating a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Provide emotional and social support to pupils as they develop their communication and social skills
  • Monitor and report on children's progress to the class teacher and SENCO

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a candidate who has:

  • Previous experience working with children in an SEN capacity, ideally within a primary school setting
  • A patient, understanding, and empathetic nature
  • A genuine passion for supporting young learners with additional needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive approach to working with teachers and parents to ensure each child's development
