Learning Support Assistant - SEMH - Medway

Tradewind is hiring! Are you an organised Learning Support Assistant seeking your next opportunity in Medway to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs?

Tradewind is actively recruiting a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Medway, assisting pupils with SEMH. This role is available for an immediate start and is full-time. It is a temporary long-term position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide focused support to students with SEMH needs, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to implement personalised strategies for individual students.
  • Deliver one-on-one support and small group interventions to aid academic and social development.
  • Foster a nurturing and positive atmosphere to promote emotional well-being and resilience.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model, encouraging positive behaviour and social skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with students with SEMH needs is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Understanding of SEMH and its effects on learning and behaviour.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic school environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or a willingness to undergo training.
  • This position requires an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional reference checks.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
