Rewarding Opportunity: 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support student in year 2 with a diagnosis of Autism (ASD). The student is non-verbal.

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a non-verbal pupil in Year 2 who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Hours: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday

Status: Full-Time

Duration: September 2024, to the end of the academic year, July 2025

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to a non-verbal pupil in Year 2 with ASD.
• Implement communication strategies to support the pupil's engagement and learning.
• Collaborate with the SENCO and class teacher to create an inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Foster positive relationships with the pupil, parents, and colleagues.

Requirements:

• Proactive and compassionate approach to supporting children with special needs.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to individual needs.
• Commitment to a full-time role, Monday to Friday, for the entire academic year.
