Are you a Teaching Assistant looking for a new role in Camden? Or do you have experience working with children with Autism and want to work in a special educational needs?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an enthusiastic child support assistant to join this lovely, family feel autism base in Camden. This is a full time, long-term role starting ASAP for the full academic year and upon review there will be an opportunity to go permanent.

The School:

This Primary Schools' Resource Base for Autism, is for primary aged children with autism. The school is rated Outstanding and is part of a larger Federation commissioned and funded by Camden LEA.

The Resource Base for Autism moved into a newly renovated site recently and has now expanded to full capacity, now offering 56 places for KS1 and 2 children with autism who are working at academic levels which are below national expectations for their age.

Every pupil is an individual with their own strengths and needs, and this supportive Resource Base for Autism provides high quality, personalised learning to meet the needs of every pupil.

As a Child Support Assistant you will be responsible for the below:

  • Supporting pupils with Autism
  • Working 1 to 1 and running interventions in small groups
  • Support behaviour by following the children's plans
  • Contributing to target setting
  • Working alongside other SEN professionals

To join us and be successful in this role you will need:

  • Previous experience working within SEN ideally Autism
  • An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
