Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Start Date: ASAP

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with additional needs? We are looking for an enthusiastic SEN TA to join our specialist setting in Sheffield, working with primary-aged children who have a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to primary-aged children with additional needs, ensuring their learning and well-being are prioritised.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavioural strategies.
  • Support children in managing emotional and social challenges, helping them to develop positive behaviours.
  • Work closely with the teaching staff and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to suit the needs of individual pupils.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with additional needs, preferably within an SEN setting.
  • A kind, nurturing, and patient approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • A Team Teach qualification would be an advantage, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
