We are working with a vibrant SEND school that is searching for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support their pupils with a range of additional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an inspiring environment, supporting students' educational and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for pupils.
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students, ensuring their specific needs are met both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Collaborate with the teaching staff to deliver tailored lessons and learning activities.
  • Use a range of communication strategies to support children with varying needs, including those with autism, speech and language difficulties, and physical disabilities.
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Offer emotional and behavioural support to pupils, fostering their confidence and independence.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with children or young people with SEND in an educational setting is essential.
  • Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced school environment and think on your feet.
  • Understanding of different SEND conditions and how they affect learning and development.
  • A proactive and positive attitude, with a commitment to the well-being and progress of the pupils.
