Special Needs Assistant Required - Secondary School in Haringey, North London

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated Special Needs Assistant to join a dynamic secondary school in Haringey, North London. This role is initially until Christmas, serving as a trial period, with the potential to extend through the rest of the academic year based on performance.

About the School: This well-regarded secondary school has a vibrant and busy atmosphere, supported by an experienced and established senior leadership team. The school recently received a "Good" rating from Ofsted and is highly regarded within the local community. Conveniently located near a mainline rail station, the school has excellent public transport links.

The Role: The Special Needs Assistant will be working closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, including Autism and challenging behaviour. You will support students in developing social skills both in the classroom and during break times, while also assisting with classroom behaviour management.

The ideal candidate will be a reliable and engaging role model, providing students with strategies to navigate difficult situations. Prior experience working with children with special needs, particularly Autism, is essential.

You will also be integrated into the wider school team, which may include assisting with mainstream classes and lunchtime duties.

Key Information:

  • Salary: £90-£95 per day
  • Hours: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, term time only
  • Immediate start - trials to be arranged as soon as possible
