Humanities Teacher - SEMH School (Full-time, Long-term)

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school. This is a full-time, long-term role, working with Key Stage 3 and GCSE students. The school provides a nurturing environment for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, and your role will be pivotal in supporting their academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality lessons in Humanities (Geography, History, and related subjects) to Key Stage 3 and GCSE students.
- Plan, prepare, and assess engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of students.
- Create a safe and positive learning environment where students feel supported and confident to achieve their potential.
- Use a range of teaching strategies to engage students with diverse learning needs.
- Work collaboratively with the teaching team and support staff to ensure student's emotional and educational needs are met.
- Maintain clear records of student progress and communicate with parents/carers when necessary.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Humanities at Key Stage 3 and GCSE level, preferably with SEMH experience.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt to the needs of students with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
- ECTs with relevant placement experience will be considered.
- Passion for teaching and supporting students with SEMH needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with other professionals.
