Job Title: SEND Teacher - Secondary Autism Specialist School
Location: Brent, North West London
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier depending on availability)
Working Pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Long-term or permanent opportunities available
Pay: Competitive daily rate - PAYE only
Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-regarded Secondary SEND School in the London Borough of Brent, specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). We are currently seeking a qualified and dedicated SEND Teacher to join this dynamic setting, starting in September 2025.
The Role:
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and experienced teacher to work in a nurturing, structured environment where students benefit from tailored, individualised education. The role involves teaching pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting a wide range of academic and social development needs within the context of autism-specific education.
Responsibilities:
Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to students with ASC
Supporting pupils in developing social communication, emotional regulation, and life skills
Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals
Monitoring and assessing progress against EHCP targets
Creating a safe, inclusive and predictable classroom environment
Contributing to the wider school community and participating in review meetings where necessary
Essential Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) - essential
Proven experience teaching pupils with ASC and additional complex needs
Ability to adapt the curriculum and use visual, sensory, and structured teaching strategies
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills, with a calm and consistent approach
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Desirable:
Experience with PECS, TEACCH, Makaton, or other autism-specific interventions
Previous work in a special school or autism provision
