SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Waltham Forest
Start date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time (term-time only), long-term
Location: Waltham Forest
Pay: £95-£115 per day (depending on experience)
A supportive and inclusive secondary school in Waltham Forest is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs.
This role will suit someone passionate about SEN, particularly those with experience or interest in working with pupils with ASD, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
About the role:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with EHCPs
- Helping students access the curriculum by adapting learning resources
- Supporting in-class participation and encouraging independence
- Working closely with the SENCO, teachers and external specialists
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to staff and parents
About you:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ideally in a school setting
- Understanding of conditions such as ASD, ADHD, dyslexia or SEMH
- Calm, empathetic and patient, with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and build positive relationships with students
- Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply
