About the Role
As our Outdoor Education Teacher, you will be a key figure in our innovative curriculum. Your primary responsibility will be to plan and lead hands-on, experiential learning activities for students of all ages. You will use a variety of outdoor environments to deliver lessons that go beyond the textbook, focusing on everything from bushcraft and survival skills to environmental science and teamwork.
We are looking for someone with a deep-seated belief in the power of outdoor education to transform lives. The ideal candidate will be a creative and adaptable professional who can build strong relationships with students, many of whom may have faced challenges in traditional school settings.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery: Design and deliver engaging and safe outdoor education lessons that align with our school's educational goals.
Student Development: Foster personal, social, and emotional growth in students through practical, real-world challenges.
Safety First: Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
Mentoring: Act as a positive role model, using outdoor activities to teach valuable life skills like problem-solving, communication, and resilience.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking a proactive and passionate individual with a proven ability to work with young people in an outdoor setting. While relevant outdoor qualifications are a plus, your enthusiasm and experience are what truly matter.
Experienced Educator: A track record of working with young people, either in a school or a youth-focused setting.
Passionate about the Outdoors: A genuine love for nature and a desire to share that passion with others.
Excellent Communicator: Strong verbal communication and rapport-building skills.
Adaptable & Resilient: The ability to handle unexpected challenges and thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
If you are ready to swap the classroom for the great outdoors and inspire the next generation of learners, we encourage you to apply today!
