Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Brent - January 2026 Start

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Brent seeking a motivated Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026. This is a full-time, long-term position (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm) - ideal for aspiring teachers or graduates interested in education, tutoring, or educational psychology.

Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant - Role Overview

  • Support students in Maths across Key Stages 3 and 4, both in lessons and through small-group interventions.

  • Assist teaching staff with lesson preparation, planning, and delivery.

  • Provide targeted support to students with SEN, EAL, or lower prior attainment.

  • Help maintain a focused, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

  • Build strong relationships with students as a positive role model and academic mentor.

  • Gain valuable insight into teaching - perfect preparation for PGCE, Schools Direct, or Teach First applications.

Requirements

  • A recent Maths graduate (or related discipline).

  • Strong academic background with a genuine passion for education.

  • Confident, enthusiastic, and proactive communicator.

  • Patient, adaptable, and reliable with a strong work ethic.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
