Job Description
Primary Teaching Assistants (4 Posts) - EYFS to KS2 - Blackburn - Jan 2026
We are delighted to be working in close partnership with a wonderful, average-sized primary school in the Blackburn area that holds the powerful mission: "Let no one ever come to us without leaving feeling better and happier." This ethos runs through everything the school does, creating a truly supportive and positive environment for pupils, staff, and the wider community. We are currently recruiting for four highly motivated and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join this exceptional team and help uphold this commitment to positivity and excellence in education.
This is a significant recruitment drive, with four full-time Teaching Assistant positions available, scheduled to commence in January 2026. The roles are designed to cover the full spectrum of the primary school, offering rich and diverse experience ranging from Early Years Foundation Stage, right up to Key Stage 2. While the posts are primarily general classroom support roles, providing essential assistance to the class teacher across all subjects and daily activities, a successful candidate must be a strong Teaching Assistant who is comfortable supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) elements. Experience in targeted intervention, small group work, and adapting lessons to meet various individual needs will be highly advantageous.
The hours for these roles are consistent, running Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, which includes a dedicated 30-minute unpaid break. The school is offering a competitive daily rate of £82.10. Crucially, while these positions initially start on a temporary basis, the school has a strong intention for these roles to transition to permanent contracts for the right candidates who demonstrate commitment, skill, and alignment with the school's positive mission.
The school is eager to secure its new team members and wants to move quickly. We are therefore seeking to send CVs of suitable candidates to trial with the school as soon as possible (ASAP). If you are a resilient, strong, and nurturing Teaching Assistant who wants to join a school where every person is valued and leaves "feeling better and happier," please apply ASAP. We look forward to hearing from you and helping you take the next step in your career. Please send your CV directly to Rachel at rachel.mcnicholas@twrecruitment.com.
