Are you a dynamic, qualified Business Studies Teacher with a passion for igniting entrepreneurial spirit in young people?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to cover a long-term vacancy at a well-regarded secondary school in Blackburn. This role involves teaching engaging and relevant Business Studies lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), including GCSE Business and potentially BTEC Business qualifications.

The Role: Teaching Business and Enterprise

You will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and support across the department:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver challenging and stimulating Business Studies lessons to mixed-ability classes at KS3 and KS4.

  • Assessment: Effectively mark, assess, and track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to ensure all pupils achieve their potential in the subject.

  • Engagement: Make the subject relatable by using real-world case studies and practical business applications to inspire students.

  • Departmental Contribution: Work collaboratively with the Head of Department and other colleagues to contribute to curriculum development and extracurricular activities (e.g., enterprise clubs).

  • Pastoral Care: Take responsibility for the pastoral welfare of students in your care and adhere to all school policies, particularly safeguarding.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate must meet the following criteria:

  • Qualification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.

  • Experience: Proven, successful experience teaching Business Studies at the KS4/GCSE level is essential. Experience with KS3 and/or BTEC qualifications is desirable.

  • Skills: Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills, fostering a positive learning environment.

  • Commitment: A strong dedication to professional development and raising student attainment.
