Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Specialist SEN Setting (Primary)
Location: Sheffield, S6
Contract: Full-time, Fixed Term until July 2026
Start Date: January 2026 / ASAP

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Teaching Assistant to join our small, specialist setting for primary-aged children. Our school supports pupils with additional needs, some of whom may present challenging behaviour. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who thrives on making a real difference in the lives of children and can work with initiative within a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours.

  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored learning and interventions.

  • Implement behaviour strategies, including Team Teach techniques where applicable.

  • Encourage positive engagement, independence, and social development in pupils.

  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and contribute to planning.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children in a specialist or SEN setting.

  • Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.

  • Initiative and ability to work independently within a small team.

  • Team Teach qualification or willingness to undertake training is desirable.

  • Commitment to the well being and development of all pupils.
