HR Manager - School-Based Role

We are seeking an organised, proactive, and people-focused HR Manager to join a school in Northamptonshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified HR professional who enjoys working in a varied role and is confident operating within evolving systems and processes.

While previous school-based experience is not essential, candidates must hold a CIPD qualification and be comfortable managing a broad HR remit in a fast-paced, changing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting staff, leadership, and day-to-day operations, helping ensure the smooth running of HR and administrative functions across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing absence and attendance, including monitoring, reporting, and follow-up

Coordinating recruitment and onboarding, including adverts, shortlisting, checks, and contracts

Leading staff induction and training administration, ensuring compliance and accurate records

Supporting performance management processes and staff wellbeing

Attending leadership and staff meetings, taking accurate notes and actions

Maintaining HR systems and personnel records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality

Supporting policy implementation and HR compliance

Providing general administrative and organisational support to the senior leadership team

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

CIPD qualification (essential)

Strong HR generalist experience

Confidence using HR systems and digital platforms, with the ability to adapt quickly to change

Excellent organisational, administrative, and time-management skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A discreet, professional, and approachable manner

The ability to work independently while supporting a wider team
