About the Role

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking dedicated and proactive Student Support Officers to work within secondary schools across Corby.

This rewarding position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning. As a Student Support Officer, you will play a vital role in promoting positive behaviour, attendance, wellbeing, and engagement, ensuring students have the support they need to succeed both academically and personally.


Key Responsibilities

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to students

  • Supporting students with social, emotional, behavioural, and wellbeing needs

  • Monitoring attendance, punctuality, and student engagement

  • Working closely with pastoral teams, safeguarding staff, and teaching colleagues

  • Building positive relationships with students, parents, and external agencies

  • Supporting behaviour management strategies and intervention programmes

  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to student support plans


Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, youth work, support, care, or mentoring setting

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach

  • The ability to build positive relationships and act as a positive role model

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
