Pastoral Support Worker - South Liverpool

Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential?

We are currently looking to build our pool of experienced and aspiring Pastoral Support Workers for a range of opportunities across South Liverpool secondary schools and alternative provisions.

The role involves supporting pupils with their attendance, behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement with education. You will work closely with students who may require additional support both inside and outside of the classroom, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

The role may include:

  • Providing pastoral and emotional support to students
  • Supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural or attendance needs
  • Building positive relationships with young people and acting as a trusted adult
  • Delivering mentoring, intervention and wellbeing sessions
  • Liaising with teaching staff, safeguarding teams and external agencies
  • Supporting students during unstructured times and throughout the school day
  • Promoting positive behaviour and helping pupils re-engage with learning

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Experience within schools, youth work, care, coaching, support work or similar settings
  • A genuine passion for making a difference to young people's lives

These positions are ideal for candidates with backgrounds in education, youth work, mentoring, care, social work, coaching, psychology or pastoral support.
