SEMH Teaching Assistant - Primary (Behaviour Support)

SANZA Teaching Agency are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a wonderful primary school in the London borough of Havering. They are seeking a teaching assistant to support students with social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) needs.

As a teaching assistant supporting SEMH, you will provide 1:1 and 1:1 and small-group support to key students.

As a teaching assistant applying for this position, you will ideally have experience using behaviour de-escalation strategies and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches.

The ideal applicant will:

  • Have previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
  • Have a solid understanding of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation skills
  • Have an understanding of Positive Behaviour Support strategies
  • Be calm, consistent and approachable in nature
  • Have a strong ability to build trust and maintain consistent boundaries
