Job Description: We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to join our team at Ashton-Under-Lyne Primary School. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing personalized support to a student with special educational needs, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and opportunities for success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to implement individualized learning plans for the student.
  • Provide one-to-one support to the student, assisting with academic tasks and promoting independence.
  • Adapt teaching materials and resources to meet the student's specific needs and learning styles.
  • Support the student with social and emotional development, fostering positive relationships and encouraging participation in classroom activities.
  • Communicate regularly with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to monitor progress and address any concerns.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a 1:1 SEN support role within a school setting is essential.
  • Knowledge and understanding of different special educational needs and strategies to support students effectively.
  • Compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with the student.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents.
  • Flexible and adaptable attitude, with a willingness to meet the changing needs of the student.
