Are you a Graduate considering a career in teaching, or a Teaching Assistant wanting to expand your skill set and experience within education? Ever thought about working as a Cover Supervisor?
What does a Cover Supervisor do?
Cover Supervisor's are responsible for:
- Supervising the class in the absence of the usual class teacher
- Supporting students in completing work set by the class teacher
- Managing behaviour for the duration of lessons
- Feeding back to the class teacher and leaving handover notes
There will be no expectation for you to plan lessons or actively ‘teach’ the material left by the absent teacher, and you don’t need any formal qualifications or experience beyond your degree; we’ll provide full training.
There really is no better way to get an introductory feel for working in education before signing up for a PGCE!
