Are you passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and making a positive impact on their learning journey? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our team at a mainstream primary school in Isleworth. This role involves providing tailored support to a Year 3 student with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with a Year 3 student diagnosed with ASD on a one-to-one basis, providing personalised support and assistance throughout the school day.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and the school's SEN Coordinator to implement strategies and accommodations that meet the student's individual learning needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for the student, ensuring they feel valued, supported, and encouraged to participate in all aspects of school life.
  • Assist the student in engaging with class activities and ensure they have access to the curriculum at their developmental level.
  • Help the student develop social and communication skills, providing guidance and encouragement during interactions with peers and teachers.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with ASD, is desirable.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to build a strong rapport with the student to create a nurturing learning environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other school staff.
  • A proactive and positive attitude, with a passion for supporting students' personal and academic growth.

To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Hold previous experience working within SEN
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
