1:1 Teaching Assistant

Tradewind are working with an excellent partnership school in the East Riding of Yorkshire, who are in need of a teaching assistant to work on a 1:1 basis, starting in January 2021, and lasting until the end of the academic year. This is a full time vacancy, and the school are looking for somebody who is fully committed and can confirm their availability for the rest of the academic year. You will be paid between £65.00 and £70.00 per day for this position.

This school is just a short drive out of Hull, and is easily accessible via public transport from Hull City Centre. It is a good school, that is consistently improving year on year. Enjoying a great reputation, the school works hard to ensure that they are committed to student welfare, as well as just academic success. Having worked with the school for a long time (and their partnership trust schools), we can say first hand that they treat temporary staff extremely well, providing a welcoming environment and ensuring that the staff members feel like 'part of the team'. This is a school who have an excellent 'bubble' system in place, and the successful candidate will be inducted into the school's systems before starting.

You will be working 1:1 with a student, working to ensure that they feel are supported both academically and pastorally. We are looking for a practitioner who has a strong understanding of safeguarding, and who has a caring nature. Experience working as a teaching assistant is essential for this role, as is a solid knowledge of the UK curriculum. Specialist knowledge/a subject specialism is not essential for this role, as you will be helping to support across the curriculum.

The role:
Assisting the teacher in the delivering work with the child
Developing curricular knowledge as required by the school
Undertaking observations of the pupil and contribute to pupil records
Abiding by and work towards all the policies within the school e.g. behaviour management, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities
Carrying out the above duties in accordance with the Children's Services Department's Equal Opportunities Policy.
Working with the safeguarding lead to report on student welfare
