Calling all Actors and Drama Graduates who are looking to work with young people in Swindon!

We are looking to recruit amateur or professional actors or Drama Graduates who are interested in working in school settings from September 2024 in Swindon. We are taking an active approach to recruiting Actors or Drama Graduates who are creative, enthusiastic, and able to adapt to different situations and settings and want to use their skills to support young people in alternative education provisions in Swindon. If you have worked with young people in any capacity, be it drama workshops or dance and musicals, please contact us to join our Team of Supply Teaching Assistants in Swindon. We are working closely with Secondary schools in Swindon who find that most of our teaching assistants and teachers from Drama backgrounds do really well to quickly build rapport with young people.

This type of work will be a great opportunity for you to use your Actor or Drama Graduate experience while earning weekly salary for the work you do. You will have the opportunity to work when it suits your audition or rehearsal diary and still earn extra income in your spare time.

Must have:

  • Acting/Musical/Drama workshop experience
  • Be willing to perform duties expected of a teaching assistant outside the remit of acting
  • Be available minimum once a week to work between 0830-1530 in a school setting

Highly Desirable:

  • Understanding and experience of supporting/teaching young people with Mental Health issues or SEND
  • experience of working with young people

Most of our schools are going to be local to you and we will offer you training through our experienced recruitment consultants and Ofsted rated CPD sessions.

As a teaching assistant or Cover Supervisor you will be expected:

  • To provide engaging and empathetic educational support to pupils
  • To assist the teacher delivering lessons
  • To have understanding/knowledge of special needs or a keen interest in helping vulnerable pupils
  • To aid learning and emotional well-being
