Tradewind are working with a wonderful partnership school in Hull, who are in need of an Art Teacher to start in January 2021, until at least February half term, with the possibility of this extending in the future. All planning and marking associated with a teaching role is expected for this position, and for this reason the successful candidate will be paid to scale, in accordance with the Main Teaching Pay Scale (up to MPS6). This is a full time position, but there is potential for a 0.8 timetable (4 days per week), if the successful candidate is only available on a part time basis.
This school is situated in Hull, and is easily accessible via public transport from Hull City Centre. It is a good school, that is consistently improving year on year. Enjoying a great reputation, the school works hard to ensure that they are committed to student welfare, as well as just academic success. Having worked with the school for a long time (and their partnership trust schools), we can say first hand that they treat temporary staff extremely well, providing a welcoming environment and ensuring that the staff members feel like 'part of the team'. This is a school who have an excellent 'bubble' system in place, and the successful candidate will be inducted into the school's systems before starting.
You will be working within a small, close knit team who have worked hard to develop a cohesive department. The head of department is a strong, experienced teacher, who has developed an excellent bank of resources that is available for all staff members. For this reason, planning for this role will be minimal. As you will be working with experienced teachers, NQTs are welcome and encouraged to apply for this role. You will be responsible for teaching Key Stage 3 Art.
The role:
Teaching Key Stage 3 Art and Design
Planning and marking in line with the national curriculum
Taking part in staff meetings and curriculum meetings
Essential requirements:
QTS
All work with Tradewind requires a DBS on the update service, and collection of at least two verified references.
