We are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant on behalf of a small primary school in Moorside, Oldham. The school provides a strong and caring ethos which supports the whole life of the school. And, through an engaging and exciting curriculum they aim to develop each child to their potential. This is a full time, long-term role with a salary of £65 per day.


The school was recently rated as 'Good' by OFSTED and has many strengths. The school is a happy and friendly place and has excellent attendance and good behaviour. Teaching is good and children make good progress in their learning to reach standards that are above average by the end of Year 6.

The school is based in Oldham Moorside (OL1) and is accessible via car or bus.

About the role

This primary school is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work within their KS2 department. The successful candidate must have excellent behaviour management, experience of working with children with Autism and a good knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum. You must be a committed practitioner who will want to attain the highest standards in teaching and learning throughout the role.

The role itself will involve supporting a child within the schools Year 4 class who has Autism. The child is working at a lower level than other students in the class and requires extra support developing Speech and Language and fine motor skills, as well as in developing their social and emotional skills by encouragement in involvement in class activities.

* Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification
* Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
* Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and employment breaks must be explained
* Have the legal right to work in the UK
