Tradewind recruitment is currently looking for a strong, confident and empathetic LSA with Autism experience. The role is an exciting opportunity that involves working at a small special needs setting near Knowle and they require someone with Autism experience to work on a 1:1 basis with a male student on the Autistic Spectrum Condition in Secondary ages.

The school tends to provide small, specialist learning environment that meets the student's learning needs as well as providing them with emotional support through specialised support techniques and alternative curriculum suitable for the ASC condition. Knowledge of MAKATON and team-teach training is highly desirable.

Working hours are between 0815-1530 Monday to Friday and it will involve working on a 1:1 basis through the day. The role is starting asap and will be continuing ongoing for the rest of the academic year of 2019-2020. Successful candidate will be taken on directly by the school after an initial couple of terms of working through us. There will be lots of opportunities to attend and enjoy extracurricular activities and the working week will also often involve going to local zoos, libraries and leisure centres as well as working in the classroom with the student in the presence of a teacher and other support staff members and students.

The school is within easy reach from Knowle, Bedminster, Bishopsworth and Brislignton and there is ample on-site parking available.

To join us and be successful in this exciting Teaching assistant position, you will need to:
*Have significant amounts of Autism experience in a school or care setting and ideally be able to engage with a young person on the ASC with emotional and behavioural outbursts
** You will need your own car to be able to get to the school as the public transport links to the school site is limited.
*Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
*Have a CV covering at least 10 years employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
*Have the legal right to work in the UK
