We are working with a SEND school in Bath, and they are currently seeking Teaching Assistants to work with young people with Autism. The school is a Specialist provision catering for pupils with Autism, Aspergers and Attachment Disorders. They require Teaching Assistants with experience of supporting children, young adults with Autism in the past. The experience of working with people with Autism and associated challenges with behaviour are highly desirable.

The positions are part-time 3-4 days a week to start with, and will gradually increase depending on the development of the pupils learning.

Most of the work will involve 1:1 intervention sessions as well as supporting other pupils in class. Previous experience of working with young people with Autism is essential. It will be expected that candidates will have good communication skills and appropriate qualifications to be able to meet these high standards.

Must have:
-Experience with supporting young people with Autism in the past
-Makaton/PECS Training or experience

Highly Desirable:

-Special Educational Needs Experience in a care or school setting
-Understanding and experience of supporting/teaching young people with Autism and challenging behaviour
-Training in Learning Support.

*Have the legal right to work in the UK
