Tradewind are working with an excellent school in the East Riding of Yorkshire, who are looking for a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant, to work on a medium to long term basis. This is a full time booking, and is on an 'ongoing' basis, meaning it will likely last as long as the student is in the school. Initially, there will be a two week trial period (lasting until Christmas 2020). Payment for this position will be between £65.00 and £80.00 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.

You will be working in a truly Outstanding School that is situated very close to Hull. This is a school that year on year produces excellent results, and students who go on to further education or employment. Believing that schooling success goes above and beyond merely the academic, this school is extremely passionate about student welfare and personal development, and works extremely hard to provide opportunities outside of the classroom. Being a very large school, they have an excellent house based pastoral system, to ensure that all students are well cared for, and that staff members can make a difference at an individual level. There is a large onsite car park that is free for all staff members to use, and there are regular public transport links for candidates who do not drive.

You will be working on a 1:1 basis with a student that often displays challenging behaviour. We are looking for a caring practitioner who can work with the student to ensure that they can remain in the mainstream classroom, and to help them focus on the task at hand. An understanding of why students may display challenging behaviour is preferential for this role.

The role:
* Assisting the teacher in the delivering work with the child
* Developing curricular knowledge as required by the school
* Undertaking observations of the pupil and contribute to pupil records
* Abiding by and work towards all the policies within the school e.g. behaviour management, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities
* Carrying out the above duties in accordance with the Children's Services Department's Equal Opportunities Policy.

Essential requirements:
Experience working as a teaching assistant
Experience working with students who often display challenging behaviour
All work with Tradewind requires a DBS on the update service, and collection of at least two verified references.
An up to date CV with a 10 year career history
Legal Right to Work in the UK
