Tradewind are supporting a SEND Primary School to recruit a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant within there additional resource base. This is a full time role to start in January 2020 with a view of a permanent contract at Easter. The school would like to recruit an Behaviour Support Assistant, experienced in working with pupils aged 5 - 11 years who have emotional, behavioural and social difficulties. A large proportion of the pupils in the class are on the Autistic Spectrum.

This 'Good' graded school, is set in a residential estate with its own grounds, which allows for a quiet and nurturing environment. This class size is small and is structured to facilitate the implementation of the students Individual Education Plans.

This could be your ideal next role if you are;

-Experienced in supporting pupils aged 5 - 11 years who suffer from emotional, behavioural and social difficulties.
-Experienced in supporting pupils with Autism.
-Confident in working in an education environment in which behaviour will be challenging on a regular basis.
-Experienced (or consider you will be confident following Team Teach training) to restrain a pupil which may be at risk of hurting them self, or others around them.
-Available full time for a permanent role (following an initial temporary period).
-An effective team player.

This role will include;

-Teaching pupils with emotional, behavioural and social difficulties, including pupils with Autism.
-Taking responsibility for the safeguarding of the young people in your care.
-Supporting the school team to provide a safe and nurturing environment for students to learn.

More about the role;

-Permanent Contract (following a typical 6 week temporary period working through Tradewind Recruitment).
-Full time 08:30 -15:00
-Free on site parking.

To be considered for this role, you will need;

-Have recent experience supporting children with challenging behaviour.
-A DBS certificate, or be happy to apply for a DBS.
-Be able to provide 2 professional references including one from your latest employer or education institution.
-Full time availability.
-Team Teach training is desirable, not essential as training is available.
