SANZA teaching Agency is currently working with an Academy School currently looking for a BSL Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a mixed special school for children and young people from 2 to 19 years old with a visual impairment that affects their access to learning. The school also supports pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

Your role as a BSL Teaching Assistant will be to work in the specialist deafblind provision within the school that offer comprehensive education to children and young people from age 2 - 19 across all curriculum pathways in school. Thid deafblind provision incorporates a total communication approach where any and all means of communication that works best for each student is supported which may include any or all of the following: sign, spoken language, written language, braille, pictures, objects, gestures, and low or high tech augmentative communication systems.

The BSL Teaching Assistant role is due to start after February half term and will continue on long term basis to July 2021 with a possibility of extending into September 2021. This role is paying a daily rate between £70 - £100.

To be shortlisted for this role you need to be passionate about working with students diagnosed with Hearing Impairment and be available on full-time basis.

All BSL TA applicants must have the following in order to be considered for this BSL TA position:

  • BSL Level 2 Certificate or higher
  • Right to work in the UK as a BSL TA
  • Experience and knowledge of working as a BSL TA in the UK
