Tradewind are currently recruiting for an excellent Cover Supervisors to work in our partnership school in Pocklington.

Tradewind are working with a simply wonderful partnership school in Pocklington, who are looking for a practitioner who can work as a cover supervisor/teaching assistant on a temporary basis. This need has arisen due to the current environment, and the school are looking to take on a practitioner on a 'month by month' basis. Payment for this position will be between £65.00 and £75.00 per day, based on experience and qualifications. You will be guaranteed employment until the end of November, but this is very likely to continue into the New Year.

You will be working across the school, providing pre-planned cover for students in a range of different classes, across a range of different subjects. For this reason, a particular 'subject specialism' is not needed (although it is welcomed), but the successful candidate will need to be versatile, and able to adapt to different situations based on the needs of the class and the subject in hand. This is a school who pride themselves in their outstanding teaching and learning, and the cover lessons provided are always to a high standard. Behaviour in the school is good, however a confident practitioner with strong behaviour management is needed for this role, due to the nature of the role. The school also has a number of teaching assistants who are absent/due to be absent, so the successful candidate may find themselves helping in a teaching assistant capacity alongside their cover supervisor role.

The school itself caters for students aged 11-18, so you may find yourself covering some 6th form lessons, alongside your more traditional 'cover supervisor role'. There is a free onsite car park for those who do drive, and the school is not too far from a bus station for those who rely on public transport. After speaking with the school at length since the schools have returned, I have been extremely impressed by the safety measures in place due to the current Covid Pandemic. Staff members entering the school can feel safe and secure that their safety, and the safety of the students in the school, are of the highest possible concern.

*Working across the school to ensure quality cover is provided
*Assisting the class teacher in a teaching assistant capacity

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who is looking for experience in a school, before potentially completing teacher training. This is also an excellent opportunity for newly qualified graduates, who are looking for a long term school placement, before getting their first permanent job. Experienced teaching assistants looking to make a step up would also be excellent for this position.

Essential requirements:
Experience working in a secondary school
All work with Tradewind requires a DBS on the update service, and collection of at least two verified references.
