Tradewind Hull are working with an excellent partnership school in Pocklington, who are in need of a bank of flexible cover supervisors, to work on an 'ad-hoc' basis, from September 2021, throughout the academic year. This will be to provide additional cover to the school, and to cover for staff absences for a number of reasons. The school are looking to 'induct' candidates on July 13th 2021, in preparation for a high volume of work in the summer term. Payment for this position will be between £65.00 and £75.00 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.

Behaviour at the school is good, with excellent behaviour management strategies in place for staff to follow. There is ample onsite parking for candidates who drive to work. This school is easily accessible from York City Centre, and is an easy drive from surrounding villages, Beverley, and Hull. There is a large on site car park for those who do drive.
When you are not covering lessons, you will be responsible for acting as a teaching assistant, working specifically with certain students with additional needs. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate who is considering a career in teaching, and is looking to gain experience before completing their PGCE. The SEN and support department have fantastic and experienced staff, who are willing to help and assist you in developing your experience and skills working with SEN students..
Key Duties
- Cover classes that need additional support
- Developing curricular knowledge as required by the school
- Undertaking observations of the pupils and contribute to pupil records
- Administering (and marking) class tests
- Abiding by and work towards all the policies within the school e.g. behaviour management, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities
Assisting the class teacher as a teaching assistant if there are no lessons that require covering
- Carrying out the above duties in accordance with the Children's Services Department's Equal Opportunities Policy.
Essential requirements:
Experience working with students aged 11-18
All work with Tradewind requires a DBS on the update service, and collection of at least two verified references.
