Cover Supervisor
Full-time, 1 year contract
September 2020
Tradewind are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and confident Cover Supervisor to work within a school in Greenwich. You will work within a small group of Cover Supervisors who play an essential role in the life of the school and are a valued part of their team. You will provide active classroom supervision in the absence of a teacher, ensuring that pupils complete the work which has been set. You will provide help and support when necessary and maintain a calm working atmosphere in the classroom. You will also accompany pupils on school trips, and be expected to support in other areas at peak times, particularly during the busy exam season.
This position would ideally suit someone who can inspire and motivate children whilst being pro-active, calm and professional. It is important that you want to contribute to the growth and development of every child and to meet their individual needs.
The successful candidate will:
*Work 8.30am - 3.00pm each day
*Supervise pre-prepared activities in the short term/unplanned absence of the teacher and communicate feedback to the teacher upon their return.
*Manage the behaviour of students whilst they are undertaking work with them, according to individual needs.
*Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour.
*Assist with the supervision of pupils out of lesson times, including before and after school, lunch and break times, as may be reasonably directed.
*Accompany teaching staff and pupils on visits, trips and out of school activities and take responsibility for a group under the supervision of the teacher as may be reasonably directed.
In return, the benefits you will receive include:
*Competitive salary
*Family friendly leave, pay and working arrangements
*Relevant learning and development opportunities
*Free on-site parking
*A dedicated, enthusiastic and highly professional staff team
*A professional working environment in which all staff are valued, listened to and able to fully use their gifts and talents

To be successful in this role you will:
*Be enthusiastic about education and helping children to be the best they can be.
*Have some previous experience of working with children in some capacity - this does not have to be within a school setting
*Be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS disclosure, Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
*Have a CV that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained.
*Have the legal right to work in the UK.
If you would like further information on this role, please contact David at Tradewind on 0207 845 5450 or email David.durham@twrecruitment.com
