Cover Supervisor for Secondary Alternative Provision, Wigan

We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Cover Supervisor to join our team to work in a secondary alternative provision in Wigan. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with pupils who have Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) and behaviour needs, providing essential support and guidance in their educational journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and managing the behaviour of pupils in the absence of their regular teacher.
  • Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring pupils remain on task.
  • Establishing positive relationships with students, promoting a supportive learning environment.
  • Following the school's behaviour management policies and procedures.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff and support teams to ensure continuity of learning.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with pupils with SEMH and behaviour needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic educational environment.
  • Valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to undergo one.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, term time only.

Pay Rate:

Daily rate of pay ranging from £90 - £110, dependent on experience and qualifications.

Start Date:

Immediate start, with the opportunity for long-term placement.
