Tradewind Recruitment are seeking Cover Supervisors to work in schools located in Felixstowe and across Suffolk and North Essex.

What DO Cover Supervisors do?

-They work in schools and cover Class Teachers whilst they are out of class
-Manage behaviour to ensure a constructive learning environment
-Supervise work that has already been planned and set
-Respond to queries from pupils where possible
-Collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher

What Cover Supervisors are NOT Required to do?
-Plan work
-Mark work
-Set homework
-Set targets

A Cover Supervisor Should:
-Enjoy working with young people
-Have good communications skills
-Be able to manage behaviour
-Be flexible
-Reliable

As a Cover Supervisor you will be supervising the class in the absence of their usual class teacher. You will likely cover different classes and subjects each day.

Planning and preparation is done before your arrival and there is no responsibility to actively 'teach'. Cover Supervisors are expected to manage behaviour and ensure that pupils are engaged in the activity.

Cover Supervisors are required to provide the teacher with feedback and to leave the classroom tidy, ready for the next lesson. This provides an opportunity to experience a range of different schools and settings and develop your skills in education.
