Cover Teacher

Essex

Are you a qualified teacher seeking flexible work once schools reopen?
Would you also like to be part of our platform promoting and organising online tuition?
Or perhaps assist schools with their Covid Testing of students?

Tradewind Recruitment proudly works with multiple secondary schools and academies throughout Essex who will have a regular need for diligent, punctual, and reliable teachers to cover the day-to-day and ongoing absence of their teaching staff. Depending on your location, flexibility and transport, you may also be able to work with client schools in neighbouring areas such as London, Suffolk and Hertfordshire.

With the current challenging climate, we have also launched a platform for online tuition. This connects top teacher talent and parents across the UK and provides an additional source of income. All qualified teachers registered with Tradewind will be able to join this platform and will be fully supported throughout the process. We are also dealing with requests for Covid Testing staff to support schools returning. If this is something your are open to, please discuss this during your application.

Supply teaching is the perfect solution for teachers who are keen to boost their income or are simply not looking for the commitment of a full-time teaching post. It provides a great source of income, gives you flexibility in your work life and allows you to gain experience from various school environments. If you are ideally seeking an ongoing role, many short-term supply bookings can lead into long term and permanent positions which are likely to pay you to scale.

There is expected to be a high demand for Supply Teachers and cover staff as school life continues to return to normal, therefore, we are always recruiting for enthusiastic and hard-working teachers to work on a daily basis. We will try to work to your specialisms, however, you may be expected to cover a variety of supply needs across all year groups and subjects.

As a Supply Teacher or Cover Supervisor you will be delivering and distributing work for the students (either to the whole class or smaller groups) which has been prepared by their class teacher. You will ensure high standards of learning and behaviour are maintained in the teacher's absence.

To join us and be successful in your application you must:
Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification (Cover Supervisors would ideally have degree or suitable experience working with young people)
Hold an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, or be prepared to put one in process.
Hold an Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable).
Have a CV that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
Have the legal right to work in the UK.
