SANZA Teaching Agency is looking for a skilled technician for a 13-week placement during the Autumn term.

About the Role:

You'll be providing technical support to both the Design and Technology and Art departments, helping to create an engaging and safe learning environment for students. You'll work closely with teachers and students, encouraging independent learning and supporting practical workshop sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support: Assist teaching staff with setting up equipment, maintaining machinery, and providing practical instruction.

Workshop Supervision: Support practical sessions with supervision, demonstrations, and hands-on assistance.

Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and adjust all power machines (e.g., band saws, lathes, millers) and ensure all tools are sharp and safe to use.

CAD/CAM Setup: Maintain and set up all CAD/CAM equipment, including Techsoft 2D Design program and Laser Cutting.

Ceramics Knowledge: Experience with ceramics and the firing process of a kiln.

Stock Management: Keep track of materials and equipment, order supplies, and maintain records of departmental spending.

Health & Safety: Ensure all health and safety records are up-to-date, including equipment checks, risk assessments, and COSHH regulations.

What We're Looking For:

Experience in design and art-related tasks.

Previous work in a design technology or art environment, particularly with woodwork.

Knowledge of ceramics and kiln firing processes.

Familiarity with CAD/CAM equipment and software, especially Techsoft 2D Design and Laser Cutting.

An enhanced DBS check, as you'll be working directly with students at times.

Why Work With Us?

Professional Environment: Join a supportive team and a school committed to high standards.
