Tradewind are working with an excellent school in Hull who require a teacher of Design Technology from April 2021, on a part time basis. You will be teaching 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday), starting on the 12th April 2021, continuing through to the end of the academic year. No planning and marking will be expected for this position, so payment will be between £110.00 and £145.00 per day, depending on experience and qualifications. Typical working hours will be between 8:30AM and 3:30PM.

This is an excellent school with an ever growing reputation in the area. Student behaviour is good, with strong behaviour policies and procedures in place for teachers to follow. There is a large onsite car park for candidates who drive, which is free to use. The school is also accessible via public transport from most areas of Hull, with bus routes which will allow the successful candidate to arrive on time. The department itself is a strong department, consisting of both Design Technology and Arts, headed by an experienced teacher. With a strong bank of experience within the department, the school would welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers for this position.

Ideally the school are looking for a teacher who is comfortable teaching Resistant Materials, as this is the main part of the timetable. There is, however, a small amount of Art (Key Stage 3) on the timetable, so a candidate who is confident delivering this would be desirable.

The role:

  • Delivering Key Stage 3 Design Technology
  • Designing Key Stage 3 Art
  • Designing Key Stage 4 Resistant Materials

Essential requirements:

A teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent)
Experience working in a secondary school

All work with Tradewind requires a DBS on the update service, and collection of at least two verified references.
